Why HuurCheckie?
Dutch rental law has become harder to follow. We want to make legal insight easier to understand for tenants and landlords.
Why we build this
Between 2022 and 2024 the number of cases at the Huurcommissie (Dutch rent tribunal) grew from just over 12,000 to more than 18,500. They often concern rent, defects and service charges.
Since July 2024 the Wet betaalbare huur (Affordable Rent Act) also regulates mid-priced rentals. That makes a clear starting point for tenants and landlords more important.

- HuurCheckie reads your rental agreement and explains in plain language what the terms mean and what to look out for.
